As a dedicated Titan user, I'm eager to explore how this innovative investment app can better serve its users, particularly those within my demographic—Gen Z and Millennial investors.
In this edition, I embark on a product design journey through Titan, understanding its customers, their pain points, and what steps the app can take to improve its customers’ experience.
Titan’s Mission: Empowering Retail Investors
Titan's mission resonates deeply with me: Democratize access to professional-grade investment strategies inaccessible to retail investors like me. By providing new investors with expert investment advice and tailored investment solutions backed by expert analysts, Titan aims to bridge the gap between retail and institutional investing, empowering users to grow their wealth over time.
Understanding Titan's Customers
Let's break down Titan's user base:

Customer 1: Gen Z Investor Enthusiasts
These investors value convenience, accessibility, and user-friendly interfaces.
They rely on different social media platforms to get financial guidance through bite-sized content.
Investing Strategy: Risky; All-In, Aggressive.
Studies show that although Gen Z doesn’t have a lot of savings, they tend to invest in volatile markets like cryptocurrency, expecting high returns.
Customer 2: Value-Conscious Investors
Value-conscious investors seek investments that resonate with their ethical, moral, and religious principles.
They prioritize full transparency on investment strategies and are cost-conscious as well.
Investing Strategy: Conservative; Careful & Specific

Customer 3: Long-Term Investors
These investors are focused on long-term wealth accumulation.
They often prioritize goal-oriented investing for specific milestones like retirement, education savings, vacation, etc.
Long-term investors seek reassurance and security in their investment decisions because they tend to put alot of capital upfront and recurringly.
Investing Strategy: Moderate; Balanced & Diversified
Analyzing Customer Painpoints
Problem: Gen Z Investor Enthusiasts
FOMO grips these investors tight, making them feel like they're missing out on the next big trend.
Due to limited capital, their investing philosophy is about yoloing it on high-risk plays to catch that rocket to “tendie town.” (They end up crashing pretty hard, me included)
They want to be a part of an active community that can assist them in reaching financial freedom by making the right investment choices.
They often fall into ‘finfleuncer’ schemes due to their susceptibility to social media as ‘THE financial knowledge tool.’
Problem: Value-Conscious Investors
Value-conscious investors tend to stay away from strategies that allocate investments toward something that is against their principles. They miss out on profitable strategies due to a couple of incompatible holdings.
Lack of transparency is a huge concern. Not all investment firms are transparent about their strategies and fee costs, breaking trust among value-conscious investors.
Problem: Long-Term Investors
Due to a lack of sufficient insight, long-term investors get triggered by bear market news leading to impulsive reactions and potential losses
Another challenge that long-term investors face is struggling to estimate the funds required to reach their financial goals, such as saving for vacations or a mortgage. This leaves them uncertain about the necessary capital needed to achieve their goals.
Long-term investors often feel uneasy about the security of their sizable investments. They tend to shy away from platforms like Robinhood because they miss the human touch – the reassuring guidance of financial advisors, the comfort of robust customer support, and the availability of well-known investment options.
Titan’s Roadmap: Brainstorming Solutions
First Solution: Fintok for Gen Z Investors
Our first move should be to harness the power of short video content—think TikTok meets investment education. By delivering bite-sized tutorials and fostering a community forum, we'll equip users with the knowledge and support they need to navigate the market confidently. Topics can vary, addressing key investment details and strategies through a series of “How To” videos that positively impact Titan’s users.
Moderation of the community forum will be key to combat misinformation.
Second Solution: Transparency for the Value-Conscious.
Transparency is non-negotiable. We'll introduce investing surveys to gauge user preferences, potentially crafting custom strategies aligned with ethical, moral, and religious values.
We can also approach this solution by exploring partnerships with investment firms offering strategies aligned with religious or ethical values.
As a person of faith, I steer clear of investment strategies that involve holdings linked to gambling, alcohol, and pork products. As an avid Titan user, having a strategy aligned with my personal values would demonstrate that Titan truly prioritizes users like me.
We'll also enhance transparency by providing a detailed breakdown of the fees (if there are any) along with the exact amount deducted from the profits within each strategy. Additionally, providing a comprehensive description of each holding within a strategy would empower investors to thoroughly research each company before committing their funds.
Third Solution: A.I. Insights for Long-Term Investors
Long-term success requires thoughtful planning. Enter our AI financial bot— Plutus; A personalized assistant for goal setting, investment planning, and market insights.

Plutus would have access to each customer’s financial data provided through Titan and be able to answer all investment questions it receives. It can assist users in planning for future investments, adapting strategies based on their investment style, creating breakdowns for specific life events, and offering various other functionalities.
Additionally, we'll provide accessible summaries of historical investment data to instill confidence and reduce panic selling among users. This approach would ensure that long-term investors stay informed about all their investments, resist the urge to sell at every downturn and cultivate trust in Titan's investment strategy team.

The strongest solution from the previous section is the third one: A.I. Insights & Stability for Long-Term Investors. A forward-looking vision might look like this:
